Kerstin Ekman and Nicolai Dunger will open the Stockholm
Poetry Festival 2007 at Elverket, the Royal Dramatic Theatre!
A scent of polypori and pine will disperse over Elverket when Kerstin
Ekman and Nicolai Dunger open this year’s
poetry bash with the magazine 00TAL at Elverket/the
Royal Dramatic Theatre 3 PM Friday November 30th!
Kerstin Ekman will read from her latest amazing book, Herrarna
i skogen, and Nicolai Dunger will perform Nordic backwoods music
and songs from his new renowned CD, Rösten och Herren.
The performance which is divided into two acts continues in the theme
of nature with, among others, one of Sweden’s foremost nature
lyric poets Bengt Emil Johnson. We also get to meet
the South African poet John Mateer, residing in Australia
who will be interpreted by Livia Millhagen, the prominent
Polish poet Dariusz Suska who will be interpreted
by Ola Rapace and the innovative Polish choreographer
Anna Piotrowska. The performance is finalized with
a poetry musical collage, a first time cooperation between the writer/poet
Eva Runefelt and musician Monica Dominique!
In the second performance of the night Gunnar Harding
will read poetry to the jazzy tunes of Carl-Axel
and Monica Dominique. Martina Lowden
who made her debut with the celebrated novel Allt (2007)
will read a text specially written for the festival to music composed
and performed by the Oscar Wilde inspired Brit Dickon Edwards.
Edwards is one of Lowden’s favourite artists and he is also
present in her novel. Now 00TAL have brought the two of them together!
We also get to meet Thomas Öberg, singer/songwriter
in Bergman Rock in the new roll as a reading writer, the poets Sofia
Stenström, Ulf Karl Olov Nilsson and
the fresh Swedish pop wonder Friday Bridge.
To the third performance 00TAL have invited the expressive Arabic
poet Joumana Haddad from Lebanon, interpreted by
the Swedish writer Magnus William-Olsson, the much
discussed German performance and slam poet Bas Böttcher
who will perform to image projections and sound art,
Sara Stridsberg who will read new texts and Ingrid
Storholmen from Norway interpreted by poet Marie
Silkeberg. The artist Catti Brandelius will
appear in a new formidable undefeatable form and musicians Monica
och Carl-Axel Dominque and artist Monica
Nielsen will perform both satirical ballads and beautiful
poetry by the recently departed Lars Forssell. The
performance will end with a concert by Thomas Öberg and
Andreas Bertilsson with band, who will perform songs from
the new project ”The physical and the psychological”.
Compère during the night is the artistic leader of 00TAL and
the festival, Madeleine Grive.
