Kerstin Ekman and Nicolai Dunger will open the Stockholm Poetry Festival 2007 at Elverket, the Royal Dramatic Theatre!

A scent of polypori and pine will disperse over Elverket when Kerstin Ekman and Nicolai Dunger open this year’s poetry bash with the magazine 00TAL at Elverket/the Royal Dramatic Theatre 3 PM Friday November 30th!

Kerstin Ekman will read from her latest amazing book, Herrarna i skogen, and Nicolai Dunger will perform Nordic backwoods music and songs from his new renowned CD, Rösten och Herren. The performance which is divided into two acts continues in the theme of nature with, among others, one of Sweden’s foremost nature lyric poets Bengt Emil Johnson. We also get to meet the South African poet John Mateer, residing in Australia who will be interpreted by Livia Millhagen, the prominent Polish poet Dariusz Suska who will be interpreted by Ola Rapace and the innovative Polish choreographer Anna Piotrowska. The performance is finalized with a poetry musical collage, a first time cooperation between the writer/poet Eva Runefelt and musician Monica Dominique!

In the second performance of the night Gunnar Harding will read poetry to the jazzy tunes of Carl-Axel and Monica Dominique. Martina Lowden who made her debut with the celebrated novel Allt (2007) will read a text specially written for the festival to music composed and performed by the Oscar Wilde inspired Brit Dickon Edwards. Edwards is one of Lowden’s favourite artists and he is also present in her novel. Now 00TAL have brought the two of them together! We also get to meet Thomas Öberg, singer/songwriter in Bergman Rock in the new roll as a reading writer, the poets Sofia Stenström, Ulf Karl Olov Nilsson and the fresh Swedish pop wonder Friday Bridge.

To the third performance 00TAL have invited the expressive Arabic poet Joumana Haddad from Lebanon, interpreted by the Swedish writer Magnus William-Olsson, the much discussed German performance and slam poet Bas Böttcher who will perform to image projections and sound art, Sara Stridsberg who will read new texts and Ingrid Storholmen from Norway interpreted by poet Marie Silkeberg. The artist Catti Brandelius will appear in a new formidable undefeatable form and musicians Monica och Carl-Axel Dominque and artist Monica Nielsen will perform both satirical ballads and beautiful poetry by the recently departed Lars Forssell.
